White Oak Home Care Services expands its community involvement by managing the Villa Dalmacia Day Centre in Spearwood. Supported by Hall & Prior, it provides culturally appropriate care for clients with Italian, Croatian, and Portuguese heritage, fostering a vibrant hub of culture and community.
A Little Help Can Go a Long Way
Like many older people, our client Kristine found the regular demands of cleaning her home becoming more strenuous and challenging. Having Jill, one of White Oak’s Support Workers, visit once a fortnight has made all the difference to Kristine’s quality of life.
“Jill has been coming to my home every fortnight on a Tuesday afternoon for many months now. Every time Jill has left, I walk up the stairs to my bedroom, then in to my bedroom, and it’s like WOW! How does Jill get my carpets looking so good? It would take a lot of hard work and effort to get them looking as good as they do after she has vacuumed them. I then walk into my en-suite, again, everything is sparkling clean and it just looks so beautiful. So much so, I don’t want to shower and make it messy again!” Kristine jokes.
“It goes without saying that my very large living area downstairs looks amazing when Jill has finished cleaning. The floor tiles are so clean and shiny, everywhere is just clean and beautiful. How Jill gets so much done in the two hours that she’s here simply amazes me,” Kristine says.
“It’s not only what Jill does and how good she does it, but the care and love Jill gives to her work and towards myself”, she says.
Having help around the home and companionship for just a few hours each week has had a huge impact on Kristine’s independence and quality of life and Kristine is grateful for the care and support that Jill provides to her.
“I’m not just lucky, I’m truly blessed to have someone as wonderful as Jill come to my home each fortnight, and leave my home looking so clean and beautiful as she does. Thank you so very much Jill and thank you to White Oak for having someone as wonderful as Jill come to my home”.
