Caring for someone fulltime in the home can be both physically and emotionally demanding. To enable family and friends to take time out White Oak’s team of staff can provide respite services to both metro and rural communities.
White Oak has identified that living outside of the metropolitan region can sometimes limit the type and quantity of services you can access. So to meet the equally important respite needs of rural communities we have an established and successful mobile unit that enables staff to travel within a three hundred km radius of Perth. This means that the staff member can stay in the family home during the period of respite or utilize the mobile unit if this is more appropriate taking the pressure of providing accommodation away from the family.
This innovative strategy has reduced the stress for many families of placing a loved one in a care facility long distances away from home while the main carer takes a break from caring or sometimes just time to attend to their own health needs.
Wherever our staff are working be it metro or rural areas they will have direct access to our management and clinical team at all times for direction and consultation which is reassuring to family and friends as they take a well earned break from their caring role.
